Trails West Subdivision is located in Piedmont, a small community in Meade County in the northern Black Hills region of South Dakota. The area offers a quiet, rural setting with access to outdoor recreation and the natural landscape that defines the region.

Piedmont sits within reasonable distance of larger regional centers, including Rapid City to the south. Residents here experience a cold climate typical of the Black Hills, with four distinct seasons and significant winter snowfall.
