Nestled between the Tuscarora and Blue Ridge Mountains is the center of the Cumberland Valley. Today, within the mountain-protected borders of the center of the Cumberland Valley, are the towns of Chambersburg, Mercersburg, Waynesboro, Greencastle, St. Thomas and other small communities. Chambersburg is at the core of the Chambersburg, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area which includes surrounding Franklin County. The population of this area in 2010 was 149,618. Chambersburg I & II Walter and Richard Ramsey established Chambersburg #I in 1955 and Chambersburg #II in 1965. DAM Management purchased the properties from the Ramsey s in 1970 and ARC bought them from DAM in 2004. Both communities were acquired by United Mobile Homes in August 2012. The parks are situated in a country setting with farm land as the main view. Through the years many homes have been constructed giving the area a residential look. Grandview Elementary serves both communities and is viewed by most to be the best school in Franklin County because of its small size and the individual attention each student receives. The communities and the infrastructures are in good condition considering their age. The communities are small and parking is at a premium, however, we have an overflow parking area for use during the holidays when extra guests come to visit.
Chambersburg II is located in Climate Zone 5. A COLD climate is defined as a region with between 5,400 and 9,000 heating degree days (65°F basis).
Knowing your area’s climate zone (as assigned by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building America Program into one of eight zones), can help you predict your heating and cooling needs. Humidity and temperature can of course vary, even by county.
The Building America COLD climate zone corresponds to the portions of IECC zone 5 and 6.
